Pump Street Chocolate
Pump Street is an award-winning bakery in a village in Suffolk, in 2012 they ventured into making chocolate from beans imported directly from single estates and cooperatives around the world.
They say "We are proud to produce the finest craft chocolate. Provenance and process are key to our finished bars. We source cacao from the best growers who ferment and dry the beans at origin. We then tailor our roasting, grinding and conching to yield the best tasting chocolate possible."
For this months box we chose to include their multi award-winning Madagascar 58% made from beans from the Sambirano Valley. It's a creamy, luxurious whole milk chocolate with notes of caramel and treacle and the zesty finish characteristic of Madagascan beans. Perfect if you have a sweet tooth but just as appealing to the dark chocolate devotees.
The packaging is a treat to open and each bar is numbered with the batch number.
